Artist Brian Vaught's passion for ceramic arts started at age nine at the Gilmore, Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts, Kalamazoo, MI. Throughout his life in pottery, Brian has focused on functional pottery forms that connect physically and emotionally through daily use. Brian finds his artistic process within a flowing stream of consciousness of nature's organic forms as gathered throughout his life. The colors and shapes of the ethereal features of the Great Lakes, Pacific Northwest and New England shorelines, and his travels in Asia, Europe and the Middle East all influence Brian's unique use of texturing and complex glaze-layering techniques.
